The Great Curtain!

While I was growing up my parents would hang a curtain up in the doorway to the room of gifts so that we couldn't see anything until right when we walked into the room. Then they started writing a different little message every year either announcing new babies, missing missionaries, or just the usual no peeking. So I decided since we were staying home for the first time in our marriage we should probably get some of our own things started. So, I found this white sheet and we traced the kids hands (I only got Mason's thumb), wrote their names and the year, and wrote a little message with it about having our first AZ Christmas. I thought it was a lot of fun and it helped with the homesickness that I had going on that night. Livi was adorable as she watched her daddy hang the sheet. Then the real fun began. They played and played and played in that curtain...of course!

The rest of the night we just played and sang songs. Just before bedtime we turned on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (my mom's favorite) and we drank eggnog shakes. I just put a tinsey bit of eggnog in Mason's milk and you would have thought that I dumped a bottle of syrup in there. He LOVED it!

This is Livi coaching Mason on his running through the curtain skills. She is saying, "come on Mason"!
